The National Theatre’s critically acclaimed, sold-out production of David Eldridge’s Beginning will transfer to the Ambassadors Theatre from January.

Beginning is a tender and funny look at the first fragile moments of risking your heart and taking a chance.

Reprising their highly praised roles as Laura and Danny are Justine Mitchell (Bodies, Royal Court; Mr Burns, Almeida Theatre) and Sam Troughton (King Lear, National Theatre; The Hollow Crown, BBC; and The Ritual). The production is directed by Polly Findlay.

Every story starts somewhere. It’s the early hours of the morning and Danny is the last straggler at Laura’s party. The flat’s in a mess. And so are they. One more drink?

Beginning received its premiere in October at the NT’s Dorfman Theatre and was acclaimed by critics and audiences alike.

Beginning, still running at the Dorfman until Nov 14, will run at the Ambassadors Theatre from January 15-March 24.
