Anthony Horowitz‘s gripping psychological thriller, Mindgame, is continuing its tour into next year, it was announced today.

The playwright’s dark masterpiece, directed by Karen Henson and starring Michael Sherwin, Andrew Ryan and Sarah Wynne Kordas, will open the 2018 leg of the tour at the Palace Theatre, Southend, in January.

Mark Styler, a writer of glossy ‘true crime’ paperbacks, has no idea what he’s walking into when he tries to get an interview with Easterman, a notorious serial killer.

First he has to get past Dr Farquhar, the quixotic head of Fairfields – the asylum where Easterman is kept.

But soon he discovers that nothing is what it seems. Who is the mysterious Borson? Where did he get the meat in the fridge? And why isn’t the skeleton in the closet?

Michael Sherwin’s recent theatre credits include Mindgame, One for the Road, The Ghost Train, Fatal Encounter, Murder Weapon and The Gentle Hook for the Theatre Royal Nottingham Thriller Rep Season, Chesterfield Pomegranate and at the Theatre Royal Windsor.

Andrew Ryan is a veteran of Agatha Christie theatrical productions. He has also appeared Strangers On A Train, The Mousetrap, The Rocky Horror Show, No Sex Please, We’re British! and Charley’s Aunt.

Sarah Wynne Kordas has appeared in Gaslight, The Diary of Anne Frank, Noises Off, The Hound of the Baskervilles, Blithe Spirit and Murdered to Death.

Anthony Horowitz is responsible for creating and writing some of the UK’s most beloved and successful television series, including Midsomer Murders and Foyle’s War.

He has written over 40 books including the bestselling teen spy series Alex Rider, which he adapted into a movie. The Alex Rider series is estimated to have sold 19 million copies worldwide.

Anthony was commissioned by the Conan Doyle Estate and Orion Books to write two new Sherlock Holmes novels (The House of Silk and Moriarty).

Most recently he was commissioned by the Ian Fleming Estate to write the James Bond novel Trigger Mortis. His latest works are The Word is Murder and Never Say Die (the latest in the Alex Rider series).

Mindgame runs at Swansea Grand Theatre from tomorrow until Saturday.
