Child actors needed for Cat On A Hot Tin Roof

Cat On A Hot Tin Roof

Northampton’s Royal & Derngate Theatre is looking for talented children to join its professional cast in a production of Cat on a Hot Tin Roof this October.

Director James Dacre is looking for girls and boys aged between six and 12 years old who must be no taller than five-feet to play a variety of parts in this production of Tennessee Williams’ Pulitzer prize-winning Deep South drama.

The young actors will be cast in two teams that will rotate between performances.

The boys and girls need to be enthusiastic and have bags of personality, have good movement, singing and acting ability and the ability to play an instrument.

Rehearsals start on 11 August, and children must be available for rehearsals and performances as scheduled until the show finishes on 18 October.

More information about the roles and rehearsal dates is included in the audition registration pack.

The auditions take place on Monday 7 July with slots available from 4pm to 9pm at the theatre and parents must pre-register, by 6pm on July 2.

Auditions will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis and will include singing, lasting no longer than 5 minutes.

To register and get a timed slot to attend, download a registration form and audition notes from the theatre’s website (on the What’s On page for Cat On a Hot Tin Roof) or pick up a form at the theatre’s Box Office.
