The Donmar’s revival of Bernard Shaw’s Saint Joan, starring Gemma Arterton as Joan of Arc, will be broadcast live in cinemas around the world, it has been announced.
The broadcast, in partnership with National Theatre Live, will go out directly from the Donmar Warehouse on February 16. It will be the fourth Donmar production to be screened in cinemas.

Bernard Shaw’s classic play, to be directed by Josie Rourke, follows the life and trial of a young country girl who declares a bloody mission to drive the English from France.
As one of the first Protestants and nationalists, she threatens the very fabric of the feudal society and the Catholic Church across Europe.
Starring alongside Arterton will be Matt Bardock as Robert De Baudricourt and D’Estivet, Richard Cant as De Stogumber, Hadley Fraser as Dunois and Elliot Levey as Cauchon.
Saint Joan runs at the Donmar Warehouse from December 9-February 18.
