Steps superstar Faye Tozer returns to her home town in May for a new comedy that takes some beating.
Faye, once a ballet teacher with the Anne Gale School of Dance, Dunstable, is now cracking the whip in a show that cashes in on the success of a certain S & M film that smashed box office records when it was released on Friday.
69 Shades of Black starts a national tour in April. It comes to the Grove Theatre on May 8.
Faye, who stepped in for Gail Porter, stars as Christina Black. The show is full of naughty innuendo and cheeky double entendres.
She told Stage Review: “I enjoy playing comedy roles and I thought this would be a really fun show to do, and something totally different from my more recent theatre jobs.
“Christina is a successful business woman, the head of an advertising agency, who has taken a shine to her new employee – the hopelessly boring William.
“She has a hard-nosed exterior and likes to be in control – but she’s definitely not complicated and dark like Christian Grey. Our show is very light-hearted!
“The show is very sassy & saucy! I am excited to get back on the road after a short, but well earned, break!
“I have played most of the theatres on this tour – I’ve been around the theatre circuit for over ten years now and I love it.
“There are a few Scottish venues that will be new to me but it’s always nice to visit somewhere new!
“Although I am best known for my time with Steps but have been performing on the stage since I was six-years-old. I never imagined I would end up in a pop group!
“Being in theatre is such a buzz for me and I love the challenge with every new part I take on”.
