Fasten your seat belts. It’s going to be a bumpy night
Tickets are now flying out of the box office for All About Eve, starring Gillian Anderson and Lily James, which comes to the Noël Coward Theatre, in the West End, this winter, adapted and directed by Olivier and Tony Award-winner Ivo van Hove.
They went on sale on Friday just after the production was announced. The revival will also star Monica Dolan, Sheila Reid and Rhashan Stone with Julian Ovenden recently confirmed to join the cast.
All About Eve, based on the iconic multi-Oscar winning film, will run for just 14 weeks, beginning previews on February 2.
The much acclaimed film, based on Mary Orr’s original play, The Wisdom of Eve, remains the only film to receive four female acting nominations.
Margo Channing. Legend. True star of the theatre. The spotlight is hers, always has been. But now there’s Eve. Her biggest fan. Young, beautiful Eve. The golden girl, the girl next door. But you know all about Eve…don’t you…?
This is a razor-sharp, unsettling exposé of the eternal obsession at the heart of show-business. Lifting the curtain on a world of jealousy and ambition, this new production asks why our fascination with celebrity, youth and identity never seems to get old.
All About Eve by Joseph L Mankiewicz, adapted and directed for the stage by Ivo van Hove, runs at the Noël Coward Theatre from Feb 2, opening night Feb 12 and runs until May 11.
