William Golding’s 20th Century epic Lord of the Flies is to be the second show in Lazarus Theatre Company’s year-long residency at the Greenwich Theatre, it is announced today.
Adapted for the stage by Nigel Williams and directed by Ricky Dukes, Golding’s explosive classic hits the stage in an all new ensemble production.
Eleven children, one island… an incredible adventure turns into a fight for survival.
What are we? Humans? Animals? Or savages?
Lord of the Flies follows Lazarus’s opening show, a revival of its acclaimed Edward II in January.
Artistic Director, Dukes, said: “Golding’s novel is one of the greatest examinations of our society, a truly modern classic, to stage a brand-new ensemble production of Lord of the Flies as part of our year-long residency at the Greenwich Theatre is a real honour”.
Edward II opens the residency, running from January 16 – 27.
Lord of the Flies runs at Greenwich Theatre from March 13 – 24.
