Smash hit Memphis the Musical extends run to October 2015

Memphis The Musical, the latest smash hit to conquer the West End, has announced an extension to its run with more than 300,000 extra tickets now on sale.

The sensational Memphis (read Stage Review’s verdict bit.ly/10uNJZn) is now taking bookings until October 2015. Tickets go on sale tomorrow.

Opening at the Shaftesbury Theatre to public and critical acclaim just last month, David Bryan and Joe DiPietro’s new musical, winner of four Tony Awards including Best Musical, has been heralded as the West End’s newest hit show.

Beverley Knight and Killian Donnelly excel as Felicia Farrell and Huey Calhoun alongside a remarkable cast of 28 singers and dancers.

The cast also includes Rolan Bell, Tyrone Huntley, Claire Machin, Jason Pennycooke and Mark Roper.

In the ensemble – Keisha Atwell, Arielle Campbell, Mark Carroll, Joseph Davenport, Momar Diagne, Carly Mercedes Dyer, Kimmy Edwards, Hillary Elk, Laura Ellis, Charlotte Gorton, Benjamin Harrold, Waylon Jacobs, Rachel John, Dean Maynard, Devon McKenzie-Smith, Tim Newman, Simon Ray-Harvey, Jon Robyns, Ashley Rumble, Kyle Seeley, Helen Siveter, Dawnita Smith and Alex Thomas.

Inspired by true events from the underground dance clubs of 1950s Memphis, Tennessee, Memphis follows the fame and forbidden love of a radio DJ who wants to change the world and a club singer who is ready for her big break.

The show is directed by Christopher Ashley with choreography by Sergio Trujillo.
