TV favourite Su Pollard leads the cast of the 2015 London revival of Side By Side By Sondheim set for the Brockley Jack theatre this September.
The Tony award-winning show features hits from legendary Broadway shows such as West Side Story, Gypsy & Ccompany, taking you on a journey through their classic songs including Losing My Mind, Being Alive and Send in the Clowns.
It will be narrated by one of the show’s original creators, Stuart Pedlar, in this reimagined production.
This is the first ever Sondheim show to be staged at the award-winning Jack Studio Theatre, and is in celebration of Sondheim’s recent 85th birthday.
Su Pollard has carved out a successful stage career alongside her television appearances. In a career spanning over 40 years, she has appeared in the West End in Me and My Girl, SHOUT! and on television in The Royal Variety Show.
She first captured the nation’s hearts as Peggy, the downtrodden chalet maid, in Hi-de-Hi, appearing in the hit BBC sitcom for nine series. Su then went on to become a household name, entertaining audiences with numerous appearances on television and stage, alongside a UK No.2 single Starting Together.
Su will be performing some of Sondheim’s most iconic songs, including I’m Still Here, Getting Married Today and the legendary Send In The Clowns.
She joins West End’s Marianne Benedict (Women On The Verge of a Nervous Breakdown, The Wizard of Oz, We Will Rock You, Sweeney Todd) and Grant McConvey (Sondheim Society Student Performer of the Year).
Side By Side By Sondheim will run at the Brockley Jack Studio Theatre from September 8-26.
