Final casting has been announced for the five star award-nominated Edinburgh transfer of Thrill Me: The Leopold & Loeb Story.
Stephen Dolginoff’s hit musical makes its Edinburgh début with a cast that includes the voices of household names Les Dennis, Lee Mead and Patricia Quinn.
Jo Parsons (Theatre: Drowsy Chaperone , Fings’ Ain’t Wot They Use T’be , All Male Pirates of Penzance , Avenue Q) plays Richard Loeb, the handsome and vivacious ringleader, alongside Danny Colligan (TV: Frankenstein’s Wedding, The Royal and Mam) playing the brilliant but socially inept Nathan Leopold.
How far would you go in the name of obsession?
The Lindbergh Kidnapping? The O.J. Simpson Case? The Great Train Robbery… so many crimes have been labelled the crime of the 20th Century, but not one engaged as much as the case of Leopold and Loeb, the self- confessed Thrill Killers.
Thrill Me is the shocking true story of two Chicago law students who kidnapped and murdered a 14-year-old boy in their desire to commit the perfect crime.
Set in Chicago, 1924, Thrill Me explores how two wealthy and intelligent college boys signed a contract in blood that would destroy three families.
Loeb – obsessed and fuelled by the philosophy of Nietzsche, feels he is a ‘Superman’ – beyond good and evil; and Leopold, a loner craving his partner’s time, attention and conditional love, becomes a willing accomplice.
Together they believe they have perpetrated the perfect crime – or have they?
Thrill Me: The Leopold & Loeb Story, presented by Richard Williamson and CliMar Productions in association with Greenwich Theatre plays at C (venue 34) at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe from July 30-August 25.
