Watford Palace Theatre, in collaboration with members of the local community, are presenting Celebrate Vaisakhi on April 27.
It will be an evening of live entertainment, presentations and food to celebrate this special time in the Punjabi and Sikh calendar.
The evening will feature Ajit Akhara, with a spectacular demonstration of devotional martial art form, Gatka, back by popular demand after last year’s successful event.
Live music from a traditional Sikh instrumental group led by Jasdeep Singh Jolly, featuring the Dilruba, the Jori and the Tanpura instruments.
Also appearing will be acclaimed vocalist Silinder Pardesi along with his band, Pardesi.
Pardesi was the first Asian band to appear at Glastonbury music festival and, in March 2009, Silinder received a UK Parliamentary award for his contribution to Punjabi cultural music in Britain.
The celebrations will start at 5pm.
