Jason Donovan ticks off another tour of Priscilla

Jason Donovan

You just can’t keep him away. Stilltouring with The King’s Speech, actor and singer Jason Donovan has announced that he is heading back to what must be his favourite musical, Priscilla Queen of the Desert.

Donovan returns as Tick, the part he played when the show originally opened in the West End and its subsequent tour, when the smash hit musical comes to Aylesbury Waterside Theatre this October.

He has carved out a successful stage career in musical theatre but Priscilla is a show that he loves.

As well as Priscilla his other West End credits include the title role in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.

His touring credits include The Sound of Music, The Rocky Horror Show, Sweeney Todd and The War of the Worlds. He is currently touring as Lionel Logue in The King’s Speech.

His television credits include Neighbours and Echo Beach. He was also a finalist in ITV’s smash hit I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here! and reached the final of Strictly Come Dancing.

Based on the movie, Priscilla Queen Of The Desert is the heart-warming, uplifting adventure of three friends who hop aboard a battered old bus searching for love and friendship and end up finding more than they could have ever dreamed of.

The Tony & Olivier Award-winning show originally opened in Australia and, after a sell-out two year run, opened in London’s West End followed by Broadway.
