Talented young actors and dancers from The Core’s advanced training programmes, Core Actors and Core Dancers, will present exciting new productions in a double bill showcase on next Thursday and Friday at The Core at Corby Cube.
The Core Actors, who have been working in collaboration with Bread n Butter Entertainment, a company of young performers from Mumbai, India, will be previewing an inspirational piece of new drama before it appears at an international festival in July.
Meanwhile The Core Dancers, led by choreographer Martin Lawrance of internationally-renowned Richard Alston Dance, will be performing their exciting new production.
The Young Artists Double Bill promises an unforgettable evening of high quality dance and drama.
The Core Actors and Core Dancers nine-month training programmes offer aspiring dancers and actors aged 14 to 21 regular workshops from leading choreographers, dancers, actors and theatre directors.
They provide young people with a taste of what it might be like to be part of a professional company.
Chris Sudworth, creative director of The Core said: “The talent and commitment of Core Actors and Dancers is astonishing.
“The Core is proud to deliver this quality training experience with these brilliant young people, most of whom are considering a career in performing arts or the creative industries.
“To attract a choreographer like Martin Lawrance, and for Core Actors to be selected for an international festival, is a real testament to Corby’s growing reputation as a centre for excellent creative work with young people”.
