Couple face romance crisis in Marks and Gran’s Love Me Do

Watford Palace Theatre is set to première Love Me Do, the new comedy from hit writers Laurence Marks and Maurice Gran this autumn.

Love Me Do is a romcom set in the shadow of the Cuban Missile Crisis.

Sara Topham, currently in Park Theatre’s Intimate Apparel, is to play the lead role of Dorothy

Alongside her will be Robert Curtis as Shack and an ensemble of three actors: Rosie Holden, Peter Clements and Hugo Bolton.

Marks and Gran are the Olivier award-nominated writers of Von Ribbentrop’s Watch and award-winning TV comedy creators of The New Statesman, Goodnight Sweetheart, Shine on Harvey Moon and returning hit Birds of a Feather.

The comedy is a touching love story about two Americans (Dorothy and Shack) who, stranded in London, find they can’t escape each other…

Love Me Do is co-directed by WPT artistic director Brigid Larmour and the venue’s creative associate Shona Morris.

Love Me Do will run from September 27 to October 18.
