It’s a performance that is set to ignite London.
Ahmed Dickinson Cardenas, Cuba’s hottest classical guitarist, is set to thrill alongside legendary ballet dancer Carlos Acosta in a scorching performance at the Royal Opera House this July.
The Havana born native is taking part in Cubania, alongside Acosta.
Cardenas has continued to enthral musical enthusiasts the world over with his innate ability to team traditional classical music with the up tempo rhythms of jazz.
Cardenas has performed at international festivals as well as on
a number of solo and collaborative projects with some of the most respected names in the industry in an effort to bring his unique take on classical music to the masses.
A graduate of the Superior Institute of Art, the ex soldier has taken part in master classes with musical greats including Leo Brouwer, John Williams and Eduardo Martin.
For almost a decade Cardenas worked closely with the late Cuban guitar composer Jose Antonio Rojas.
He has also successfully worked on collaborative projects which have resulted in the release of four albums since 2008, culminating in one of his most successful recordings to
date, Havana Suite in 2011.
Cardenas and Acosta will accompany others in a celebration of their homeland’s culture at the Royal Opera
House from July 21-23.
