I Believe In Unicorns gets run at Royal & Derngate studio

I Believe In Unicorns

Olivier Award-nominated I Believe in Unicorns goes into Royal & Derngate’s Underground Studio, from April 15-17 ahead of a West End run over the summer.

This 55 minute version of Michael Morpurgo‘s play, has been created by R & D associate director, Dani Parr, winner of two Awards for Innovation at this year’s Brighton Festival, and producer and performer Danyah Miller.

This intimate one-woman show is set in a library full of books that hold more than stories within their pages.

It is a tale of the power of books, and the bravery of a young boy called Tomas.

Tomas loves playing in the mountains where he lives and hates reading and school, but his world is turned upside down the day he meets the Unicorn Lady, played by Danyah Miller, in his local library.

It is an enchanting and interactive show that sparks imagination in both young and old, and challenges audiences not to believe in unicorns after joining Tomas’s spellbinding journey.

Audience members can add their own piece of magic to the story by bringing a children’s book to become part of the set, and swap if for another at the end.

I Believe In Unicorns had a hugely successful run at the 2013 Edinburgh Fringe Festival and a sell-out tour of libraries in Hertfordshire and Central Bedfordshire as part of the Family Arts Festival in October 2013.

Recommended for ages 5 to 12 years old to enjoy with their families.
