Fringe favourites Scotch & Soda will bring their raucous, world-class mix of circus, dance and original music to London for the first time from May.

London Wonderground’s decadent Spiegeltent will host this glamorous evening of debauched and deadly fun jam-packed with jaw-dropping lunacy, incredible feats and live beats.

A dusty desert bar. A chance encounter. A spectacular clash of spellbinding misfits, Scotch & Soda is a guaranteed whiskey-soaked evening of breathtaking feats, blinding charm and beatnik soul.

The show features gravity-defying circus from some of Australia’s finest acrobats with previous appearances including Cantina, La Clique, Cirque and Tom Tom Crew with music from the renowned Crusty Suitcase Band.

Scotch & Soda is a collaboration between Ben Walsh’s Crusty Suitcase Band and David Carberry & Chelsea McGuffin – the creators of the internationally acclaimed show Cantina.

London Wonderground is the brainchild of Underbelly and Southbank Centre.

It is a spectacular slice of circus in the centre of London. Back for a fourth year, the festival is renowned for hosting the best circus and cabaret from across the world in an enchanting riverside venue, complete with a magnificent 1920s Spiegeltent and various rides and attractions.

Ed Bartlam and Charlie Wood, directors of Underbelly, said: “We can scarcely believe that this will be Underbelly’s seventh year at Southbank Centre and our fourth year with London Wonderground.

“We created these festivals with the very clear ambition of wanting to give Londoners an affordable and eclectic mix of fabulous live entertainment but within a true festival environment in the very heart of London.

“We’re very excited about this year’s festivals and can’t wait to get the Cow’s legs up in the air and the mirrors polished on that Spiegeltent again.”

Jude Kelly, artistic director of Southbank Centre, said: “We’re thrilled to bring back the Underbelly Festival and London Wonderground, both of which draw thousands of people – including young people and families – who enjoy the informality and sense of festival fringe to our riverside site throughout the summer.”
