Steven Dykes new play, Glockenspiel, which explores the secrets and lies of war, is to open at London’s Tristan Bates Theatre this January.
Presented by Old Sole Theatre Company, Glockenspiel explores the lives of those left behind on the home front, celebrating the humour and spirit of ordinary people trapped in an extraordinary situation.
Three funerals are held in one town during the longest war in its history. Far from the war waging overseas, a small American town is rocked by the deaths of three soldiers.
The relatives discover that none of the dead were killed on active duty and the conspiracy behind each inglorious death prevents their families from coming to terms with their loss.
Duty. Loyalty. Patriotism. What is the true cost of the War on Terror?
Writen and directed by Steven Dykes, this powerfully told drama stars Laura Asare, Katie Glaister, Parys Jordon, Coren Lawrence, Jon Parry, Hebe Renard, Lolade Rufai and Tolu Stedford
Glockenspiel runs at the Tristan Bates Theatre, Covent Garden, from January 4-14.
