Mike Bartlett’s King Charles III readies for West End opening

The complete cast of the Almeida Theatre’s acclaimed production of King Charles III have begun rehearsals for the play’s West End transfer.
Directed by Almeida artistic director Rupert Goold, Mike Bartlett’s hit new play enjoyed a sell-out run at the Islington theatre earlier this year.
King Charles III transfers to the Wyndham’s Theatre for a limited season previewing from September 2.
Tim Pigott-Smith will once again play Charles and Oliver Chris will reprise his role as William.
They will be joined by Katie Brayben, Richard Goulding, Nyasha Hatendi, Adam James, Margot Leicester, Miles Richardson, Tom Robertson, Nicholas Rowe, Tafline Steen and Lydia Wilson.
The Queen is dead: after a lifetime of waiting, the prince ascends the throne. A future of power. But how to rule?
Mike Bartlett’s play explores the people underneath the crowns, the unwritten rules of our democracy, and the conscience of Britain’s most famous family.
Tickets are now on sale.
