There are times when covering the theatre definitely has its perks. Absolutely no apologies for the images.
Lucky diners at one Oxford restaurant were served up an extra tasty treat yesterday when The Dreamboys stopped by for lunch.
Four of the cast, who are bringing their Fit and Famous national tour to the New Theatre Oxford next Thursday, visited The Big Bang to get sausages and temperatures sizzling.
Peter Alamu-Carter, Rowan Rowe, Luke Baker and Jack Jefferson spent time in the kitchen and in the dining room preparing themselves for a return to the city to kick off their new tour.
Peter said he was looking forward to performing at the New Theatre again and that they hoped to see fans old and new in the audience.
“It’s a brand new show and it is full of new surprises. We have lots in store – including our new boy Jack,” he said.
“If you haven’t seen a Dreamboys show before don’t come with any expectations, just come with an open mind and you’ll have fun”.
And he said it had been fantastic spending time in the Castle Quarter restaurant – especially as they got the chance to try some of the food.
“Big Bang has the best bangers in town!” he said.
Big Bang Oxford manager, Mazz Image, said having The Dreamboys in the restaurant had been a chance for them to show off their playful side.
“It’s been fun having the fit Dreamboys playing with our hot sausages,” she said.
Oxford Brookes student Rebecca Tollit, who works at the restaurant, was whisked off her feet – literally – by the quartet.
“It’s been great fun,” said the 19-year-old, of Cowley.
“It’s definitely not been your typical day in the office but it has been really enjoyable having them here. They are a really friendly group.”
Stephanie Tye, press officer at the New Theatre, said: “We’re delighted to be welcoming The Dreamboys back to the New Theatre.
“They are a great group and everyone who meets them is completely charmed by them.
“We’re also really grateful to the staff at The Big Bang for letting us take over for a lunchtime, it is a fantastic place and The Boys loved tucking in to the sausages.”
