It’s going to be Strictly dance for fans in a special show planned for the Royal & Derngate Theatre in Northampton.
On June 28 some of the biggest names from hit TV shows such as BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing, Britain’s Got Talent, So You Think You Can Dance and Sky 1’s Got To Dance will come together on stage at Royal & Derngate for Flash Mob, a night of explosive dance.
Featuring Kevin Clifton, Karen Hauer, Flawless, Tommy Franzen, Alleviate and Brosena, Flash Mob offers audiences an evening of variety.
A number of dance styles as Latin, contemporary, jazz and street will be thrown into one huge celebration of dance.
Flash Mob launched at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2012 to critical acclaim and enjoyed a residency in London’s West End playing to standing ovations nightly.
The show provides a platform for the amazing talent that has emerged from TV dance reality shows.
Marina Blore, director of World Dance Management, said: “In this show the dancers have choreographed their own individual performances and, with the help of Nick Winston our artistic director and choreographer, we also show what can be achieved when these different dance genres are fused together.
“Flash Mob enables the talent to showcase their work as part of a much bigger production.”
Flash Mob is the first theatre production to actively encourage social networking as an integral part of the show – so no turning your phones off!
Facebook and Twitter are used as tools to drive the storyline in the first act, so the audience will be invited to switch on their mobiles and tweet as the show begins.
The production aims to demonstrate that whatever the music, whatever the genre, dance has the power to touch an audience.
