Comedy legend Frank Skinner brings his brand new show Man In A Suit to Royal & Derngate on May 13 and 14.
The Brummie funnyman promises a new, mature approach for his first new stand-up show in six years.
“There was a time when my act was more or less exclusively filth,” he says, “but I like to think I’ve got a bit more sophisticated.”
He muses on his fame, fatherhood at the age of 54, and recounts a discussion about Youtube comments that he had with Prince Charles.
But diehard fans will be delighted to know that his mischievous, probing wit is sharper than ever. In fact, there turns out to be a fair helping of smut scattered in among the haikus.
With his awesome command of an audience – hecklers tangle with him at their peril – and his peerless delivery, Skinner is one of the most accomplished comics at work today, and his two nights in Northampton will be a rare opportunity to see him at work as a solo stand-up.
