Godber’s Bouncers are back on the door at Chichester

Get out your glitterballs and Lycra. John Godber’s classic comedy about disco, clubbing and the men who man the doors, comes to Chichester’s Minerva Theatre on February 3.

This hilarious multi award-winning comedy is the colourful tale of a night on the town, featuring rowdy young men and women, a cheesy DJ, late night kebabs and the taxi ride home.

The action unfolds under the watchful gaze of the ever-present doormen Lucky Eric, Judd, Les and Ralph.

The play has been performed all over the world in a variety of different languages but the theme is universal.

In 2012 it was included in a new app produced by the V&A museum entitled Played in Britain: Modern Theatre in 100 Plays 1945 ā€“ 2010.

John Godber, who alwas responsible for Up ā€˜nā€™ Under, April in Paris, and Teechers. He has written over 60 plays, won numerous awards and has the distinction of being one of the most performed writers in the English language.

The cast features Adrian Hood (Brassed Off, The Syndicate) as Judd, Frazer Hammill as Les (Flint Street Nativity, Teechers), Robert Hudson (Red Riding, The Bill) as Lucky Eric and Chris Hannon (Lunch Monkeys, Being Sold, Topsy & Tim) as Ralph.
